Mary Lou & Chris Sordi decided to organize the Bronte Epilepsy Golf Classic. In May 2000, the first tournament netted $75,000, which was presented to UC Davis as seed money to launch a research program in Bronte's honor. UC Davis matched the Sordis' donation to create the Bronte Epilepsy Research Program.

Chris and Mary Lou went on to organize three more golf tournaments:
2001 Raised $100,000.
2002 Raised $150,000.
2003 Raised $890,000!
